Case Study: Bespoke Decorative Trellis in the Ribbon Wheel Garden
Last year, The Garden Trellis Co were delighted to work with Butter Wakefield on the award-winning Ribbon Wheel Garden in London.
Butter Wakefield said, “We were completely delighted with the detail and finish of the decorative mirrored panels and surrounding trellis fencing and dog gate. The Garden Trellis Company were hugely helpful and professional from concept to installation. We are busy specifying more of these mirrored panels in several new gardens and use them for all of our trellis/fencing requirements.”
We recently caught up with project manager, Naomi Pulchan to find out more about this special project:

What was the brief? To create two decorative trellis panels, plus large trellis screens & gate.
The Trellis was designed and handcrafted in the workshop in Essex, painted in our paint shop in Farrow & Ball Downpipe and installed in one day in February 2019.
Tell us more about the decorative trellis: The designer is especially happy with the decorative trellis panels on the wall above the stone water feature. They include antiqued mirrors and are set off by two bronze light fixtures.
And what about the large trellis screens and gate? These were put in place to create a division between a communal and private garden. The bespoke gate has a small stable style bottom section to be used to let the dog out.
The garden has an elegant combination of wildflower style planting with a traditional styled boundary, bringing the entire space into function as part of the garden space.
I really like Butter Wakefield’s planters with long stemmed flowers. The clever use of bronze for the ironmongery and fixtures also warms the scheme.

Awards: The garden is the principal winner for BALI award for Domestic Garden Construction between £100k-£250k. It is also nominated for the Society of Garden Designers People’s Choice Awards, which will be announced on 31st January.
